Tune in at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 20 for KCSC’s Metropolitan Opera broadcast. In part three of the Ring, Wagner’s cosmic vision focuses on his hero’s early conquests, while Robert Lepage’s revolutionary stage machine transforms from bewitched forest to mountaintop love nest. Jay Hunter Morris sings the title role and Deborah Voigt’s Brunnhilde is his prize. Bryn Terfel is the wanderer. KCSC’s Lane Whitesell hosts.

Robert Lepage’s landmark production of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen is back for three complete cycles this spring. Tune in at noon, Saturday, April 6 for the first installment of the Metropolitan Opera broadcast of Wagner’s Das Rheingold, starring Stephanie Blythe, Stefan Margita, and Mark Delavan as Wotan.

Saturday, at 11:30 a.m., tune in to the Metropolitan Opera broadcast of Verdi’s “La Traviata,” and hear soprano Diana Damrau tackle Verdi’s eternal heroine for the first time in Willy Decker’s inspiring production. Join us at noon, Saturday, March 23 for a 1977 archive broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera production of Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino,” the dark, magnificent opera starring the legendary Leontyne Price (pictured) as Leonora who is desperately in love with Alvara (Placido Domingo) even as fate wrenches them apart. KCSC’s Lane Whitesell hosts.
