Join us at noon this Saturday, May 18 for the Lyric Opera of Chicago broadcast, Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra,” starring the world-renowned Thomas Hampson (pictured) as Simon, Ferruccio Furlanetto as Fiesco, Krassimira Stoyanova as Amelia, and Frank Lopardo, as Adomo. Set in 14th century Genoa, the opera centers on the noble, passionate, desperately conflicted Boccanegra, Doge of Genoa and his violent conflict with his enemy, the nobleman Fiesco (and a reconciliation that will break your heart).
